ABOUT

Recording artist, Malea, continues to successfully span many artistic platforms and genres. Malea McGuinness was born in Ft. Hood, Texas to a Korean mother and an Irish father who served in the armed forces as a Green Beret. At age five, Malea and her younger sister, went to live with her grandparents in Long Island, New York. During her childhood, Malea attended several prominent music programs including: Tanglewood Music Center in Massachusetts; Oberlin Conservatory in Ohio and the Chautauqua Institution in New York. She continued her musical training at the Manhattan School of Music, where she majored in Vocal Performance (classical & opera) and later landed a role in Broadway’s, The King and I, alongside Lou Diamond Phillips. Malea continued working on the New York stage, until officially relocating to Los Angeles to begin her music recording career.
